En los últimos años hemos visto como en Turquía tiene lugar un conflicto entre las fuerzas gubernamentales y las fuerzas kurdas que lo que buscan es logar la independencia, pero al no serle reconocida por las autoridades de Ankara decidieron utilizar el método de la violencia a través del grupo armado PKK. Esta semana hemos podido ver el último capítulo de este conflicto que lleva muchos años en activo.
En la noche del jueves al viernes los líderes del Partido Democrático de los Pueblos (HDP) fueron detenidos por las autoridades junto a diez miembros más del parlamento pertenecientes al mismo partido[1]. El motivo según los medios oficiales es que dichas personas acumulaban una gran cantidad de requerimientos judiciales a los cuales no asistían, por lo que decidieron detenerlos. Muchos de estos requerimientos están relacionados con posibles vínculos con el PKK, ya que el HDP se encuentra cercano a su postura en cuanto a los derechos del pueblo kurdo y es además el tercer partido más importante del país en número de representantes, con 59 de los 550 escaños del parlamento[2].
La reacción no se ha hecho esperar y apenas siete horas más tarde ha estallado un coche bomba en la ciudad turca de Diyarbakir frente al cuartel de los agentes antidisturbios de la policía. Sin embargo la principal novedad de esto es que no ha sido el PKK el que ha asumido la autoría del atentado, tal y como cabría esperar debido a la detención de los miembros del partido HDP, sino que ha sido el ISIS el que la ha reclamado. Ello concuerda con un video de hace unos días en el cual Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi, líder del ISIS, instaba a sus seguidores a atentar en este país[3].
A pesar de esto el ejecutivo turco aun duda de que esto sea cierto, pues los atentados previos del ISIS en Turquía siempre se han producido con pequeñas cantidades de explosivos, al contrario que en esta que se hizo con una cantidad muy grande y que responde más al tipo de atentados que suelen perpetrar los miembros del PKK[4].
El motivo por el cual al ISIS le interesa asumir la autoría es la de profundizar el empeoramiento de las relaciones entre el gobierno y los rebeldes kurdos para que vuelvan a estar en guerra y así liberar una fuente de presión para las fuerzas del ISIS, ya que los kurdos los combaten de forma muy activa y los turcos también, aunque la presencia de estos últimos es bastante escasa y siempre para asegurar sus fronteras.
In the last years we have seen how in Turkey it has took place a conflict between the Government forces and the Kurdish forces, who seek to reach its independence, but as the authorities of Ankara don’t recognize it they decided to use the method of the violence through the armed group PKK. This week have been able to see the last chapter of this conflict that takes many years in active.
On the night of Thursday to Friday the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) were arrested by the governmental authorities along with ten members of Parliament belonging to the same party. The reasons according to the official means is that these people accumulated a great amount of judicial requirements which had not been attended, by what they decided to stop them. Many of these requirements are related with possible links with the PKK, since the HDP is located close to its stance with regard to them rights of the Kurdish people and is also the third most important party of the country in number of representatives, with 59 of them 550 seats of the Parliament.
The reaction did not wait and just seven hours later a car bomb exploded in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir against the headquarters of the riot police officers. However the main novelty of this is that it has not been the PKK who has assumed the authorship of the attack, as you would expect because of the arrest of the members of the HDP party, but that has been the ISIS which has claimed it. This agrees with a video published some days ago in which Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, leader of the ISIS, urged to their followers to attempt in this country.
Despite this the Turkish Executive still doubt that this is true, because the previous attacks of the ISIS in Turkey have always occurred with small amounts of explosives, contrary to this which was made with a very large amount and that responds more to the kind of attacks that tend to commit the members of the PKK.
The reason why ISIS is interested in assuming the authorship is the further worsening of the relations between the Government and Kurdish rebels so that they return to be at war and thus release a source of pressure for the forces of the ISIS, because the Kurds fight them very actively and the Turks also, although the presence of the latest one is very tight and always to secure its borders.
