Turquía siempre ha mostrado una postura distinta al resto de la Comunidad Internacional con respecto a Siria. En los últimos días, la guerra particular de Turquía en territorio sirio se ha hecho evidente.
El pueblo kurdo, enemigo principal de Turquía desde la caída del Imperio Otomano, se ha enfrentado a las milicias del Estado Islámico defendiendo su territorio, del mismo modo que lucha contra el gobierno turco reclamando su Kurdistán. Cada vez son más los muertos que los extremistas kurdos provocan en territorio turco.
Por esto, y ante las presiones que la Comunidad Internacional ha hecho a Erdogan tras el fallido y especulado golpe de Estado, Turquía ha decidido intervenir en su particular guerra. Esto supone un doble juego muy llamativo: por una parte, su intervención en Siria hace recular a todo aquel que le ha tachado de “colaborar” con el Estado Islámico; además, por su parte, arremete contra los kurdos, pues han decidido entrar en Siria por la frontera del Kurdistán, cargando contra quienes se mostraban reacios a la llegada turca.
Las reiteradas agresiones que están agotando a los kurdos han provocado que miembros de la Comunidad Internacional, como Estados Unidos, han urgido a las fuerzas de Erdogan parar estos ataques. Sin embargo, las tropas de Turquía mantienen su ofensiva contra las milicias kurdas, intensificando, además, sus ataques.
Bajo el pretexto de la defensa de su país, el ejército turco ha conseguido capturar hasta 21 pueblos y ha prometido a sus ciudadanos que no cesará el fuego hasta que Turquía no esté libre de amenaza.
En definitiva, y ante la consecución precipitada de los hechos, cabe relacionar el fallido Golpe de Estado, las duras críticas a Erdogan, y los ataques abanderando la seguridad turca que, sin duda, legitimarán la figura demacrada del presidente turco. Y es que en Turquía, la saña de radicales kurdos, como PKK o YPG, así como el propio Estado Islámico, es, en realidad, una verdadera amenaza.
